My download is taking a long time

Because we allow clients to make modifications to their files and settings, new captions need to be generated every time there's an update. Depending on the duration of your file and the format you're trying to export, it may take a while to generate the download. The system will usually notify you in some way that the download will take a while, in which case you will receive an email notification when it's ready (if you've enabled notifications). This way, you don't need to wait around for the download.

Also, you can make use of our caching system. Exports that have been generated will be cached in the system so that you don't need to start a new download. Open a file and go the Export page. Close the Downloader if it opens up.

You see a list of downloads that have been requested, as well as their current status. Once the status shows as Ready, you can click on the file name to download it. Note that cached downloads will only reflect changes up to the point that the download was requested. Cached downloads that no longer reflect the current version of the transcript of set options will be labeled with the Outdated tag. To get an updated version, click the Download Latest Changes button and request a download of that format again. We will only cache one version per export format.
