How do I review my files?

In your dashboard, make sure you're in the Files tab. Navigate to a file you'd like to open, and then click on it to open it up.

Reviewing your file

The file will open up. You'll see the video. And if work has been completed on it, you'll see the finished transcript beside the video. This is the transcript editor. You can just skim through the transcript or actually make changes to it if desired.

Also, the video will have the captions enabled on it with default settings. This is a great way to preview what your captions will look like.

You can press the Play button on the video, or use the Tab key to start and stop playback. When the video plays, you'll see a yellow cursor track across the text. This indicates the current position of the video in your transcript. This is helpful to follow along and see where any changes might be needed.

Editing the transcript

The transcript for this example file was AI generated. So I needed to make some changes.

You can make changes like a standard text editor. Note that the text does contain timing information embedded in it. The editor uses some magic to sync up your changes to the correct times. However, big changes such as removing or altering long sequences of words could have unexpected timing results. For human-edited transcripts, you shouldn't need to make big changes anyway.

Once you're happy with the changes, hit the Save button. Or you can use the Revert button now, or even after you save, to undo all your edits and revert back to the original transcript we delivered to you.

Once you've saved your changes, new captions with the updates will be generated and loaded into your video. You may need to wait a couple of seconds if the file is long. You'll see a confirmation message once the new captions are loaded into the video for preview.
